- Bobbejaan Schoepen was born on May 16, 1925 in Boom, Flanders, Belgium. He was an actor and composer, known for Ah! t'Is zo fijn in België te leven (1950), De ordonnans (1962) and Davon träumen alle Mädchen (1961). He died on May 17, 2010 in Turnhout, Flanders, Belgium.
- In 1953 Bobbejaan released the song "Dat is Zwarte Piet". The very popular traditional character Zwarte Piet is part of the Saint Nicholas holiday celebration in the Netherlands and Belgium.
