Lars Schmidt was born on 11 June 1917 in Gothenburg, Västra Götalands län, Sweden. He was a producer and writer, known for ABC Stage 67 (1966), Twenty-Four Hours in a Woman's Life (1961) and Hedda Gabler (1962). He was married to Yanne Noorup, Kristina Belfrage and Ingrid Bergman. He died on 18 October 2009 in Fjällbacka, Västra Götalands län, Sweden.
