Reene Schisgal was born in New York. She was the film producer of Sidney Lumet's Power (1986), a political drama starring heavyweights Richard Gere, Gene Hackman, Julie Christie, Denzel Washington among others. She joined forces with first-time screenwriter David Himmelstein and together they delivered a fine movie which somehow failed to connect with audiences.
She was married with writer/producer Murray Schisgal. They had two children.
