- Alfred Schirokauer was born on July 13, 1880 in Cottbus, Brandenburg, Germany. He was a writer and director, known for Der Himmel auf Erden (1927), Die Faust des Schicksals (1921) and Mutter und Sohn (1924). He died on May 24, 1954 in Baltimore, Maryland, USA.

- As a Jew he had to emigrate abroad where he was able to write few more screenplay like "De familie van mijn vrouw" (1935), "Lucrèce Borgia" (1935) und "August der Starke" (1936).
- Still active as a lawyer he wrote his first novel "Ilse Isensee" (1904) and in the next years followed many other novels.
- He already got in touch with the film business in 1913 and he wrote his first screenplay for "Das verschleierte Bild von Gross-Kleindorf" (1913).
- Besides his activity as a screenwriter Alfred Schirokauer also realised some movies as a director.
