Biography

Nicole Schiro is a Texas-based SAG-AFTRA and AEA actor working in film and theatre. She plays Julia in Mothers & Daughters, a short film that she also wrote and produced.

She has appeared in several independent short films as well as the Warner Brothers film The Replacements (2000) directed by Howard Deutch. Her stage work includes playing two first ladies: Mary Todd Lincoln at the historic Fulton Theatre and Lady Bird Johnson at ZACH Theater. Her New York theatre credits include productions at LaMama, Queens Theatre, and The Barrow Group.

Nicole is the Co-Founding Managing Director of Door 98 LLC, a film production company with the mission to tell women’s stories through the art of narrative film. She holds a BFA in Acting from The University of Texas at Austin and trained in New York City with the late Wynn Handman. She also holds an EdD in Organizational Leadership from St. Edward’s University. Her dissertation focuses on practices that advance women in leadership roles in higher education.

She lives in Austin, Texas, with her husband, director Ted Magee, and their daughter, animation artist Alma Magee.
