Biography

Wim T. Schippers was born on July 1, 1942 in Groningen, Groningen, Netherlands. He was a writer and director, known for De lachende scheerkwast (1981), Plafond over de vloer (1986) and We zijn weer thuis (1989). He was married to Ellen Jens. He died on June 10, 2026 in Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands.

Plays the trumpet on many of his own compositions, as well as in the guise of Ernie from Sesamstraat on recordings written by him and Paul Haenen.
