There are more than six thousand descendants of the "Schindlers Jews" throughout the world.

Spent his last years living in poverty.

Saved more Jews during the Holocaust than any other private person. His enamel plant was a haven from the Nazis for over thousand people at best.

On his grave, the Hebrew inscription reads: "Righteous among the Nations", an honorific used by the State of Israel to describe non-Jews who risked their lives during the Holocaust to save Jews from extermination by the Nazis. The German inscription reads: "The Unforgettable Lifesaver of 1200 Persecuted Jews".

He was a very heavy drinker and possessed an exceptionally high tolerance for alcohol. He used this to his advantage by going out for drinks with high-ranking Nazi officers to make business deals. They would get very drunk while he was able to stay clear-headed.
