Steve Sax was an all out, hell-bent for leather baseball player. Born in Sacramento, California, Sax signed a professional contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1978 at the age of 18. Advancing through the minor leagues, he made it to the big club in 1981 after being named the Pacific Coast Player of the Year. Quickly becoming known as "Mr. Hustle", Steve Sax played with the Dodgers for eight memorable years, helping them to four Western Division titles and two World Series Championships. In 1989, he signed with the Yankees as free agent, eventually playing three solid seasons with them. He also played for the White Sox before ending his career with the Oakland Athletics. In his 14 year career, the Dodger great compiled over 1,900 hits and stole over 400 bases. Sax will always be remembered for his enthusiasm and love for the game.

In 1995 he tried his hand in politics which proved to be unsuccessful. He is currently a sportscaster for the Fox Television Network.

Played second base with the National League&#39;s Los Angeles Dogers
(1981-1988); and the American League&#39;s New York Yankees (1989-1991),
Chicago White Sox (1992-1993), and Oakland Athletics (1994).

Made major league debut on 18 August 1981.

Named to Baseball Digest magazine&#39;s 1982 Rookie All-Star Team.

Was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers (MLB) in the 9th round of the
1978 amateur draft.

1982 National League Rookie of the Year for having .282 Batting Average
(180 for 638), 88 Runs, 23 Doubles, 7 Triples, 4 Homeruns, 47 RBI, 49
Stolen Bases, 49 Walks, 229 Total Bases and 10 Sacrifice Hits.

Named to National League All Star Team 3 times (1982-1983 and 1986) and 2
American League All Star Teams (1989-1990).
