- Jordi started his musical education in the school choir of Igualada. He then studied cello at the Barcelona Conservatory of Music, after which he began his training in ancient music at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Switzerland, where he has been a teacher since 1973. During the last twenty years or so he has also performed as a concert performer and director.

- In 1989 Jordi created the baroque orchestra Le Consert des Nations.
- Jordi has made more than 100 recordings and have won several distinctions; In 1988 the French Minister of Culture appointed him Officer of "Ordre les Arts et des Lettres" and in 1990 he was awarded the "Creu the Sant Jordi" by the Generalitat of Catalunya

- In 1974 Jordi, his wife and other musicians started the ensemble Hesp?rion XX, wich brought him to be a forefront in the interpretation of medival, Renaissanse and baroque music.
