- Narayanrao Sarpotder D. was born on February 11, 1896 in Nandavali, Bombay Presidency, British India. He was a director and writer, known for Jai Vijay (1930), Chandrarao More (1925) and Shamsher Bahadur (1930). He died on April 23, 1940 in Poona, Bombay Presidency, British India.
- Also known as Nanasaheb Sarpotdar, he began his career on the stage before entering films during the silent era. His production house Aryan Film Company produced over twenty silent pictures.
