Jimmy Santos is known for Rocky n Rolly: Suntok sabay takbo (1990), Bondying: The Little Big Boy (1989) and Electrika kasi, eh! (1977).

Popularized "Carabao English" in his comedy films in the 90s. "Carabao English" is a Filipino slang term for broken, grammatically incorrect English or literal direct translations from Tagalog to English. For veteran comedian and TV host Jimmy Santos, it was his signature comedic trademark.

In mid-70s, ha joined Philippine show business, playing as extra in few movies before being typecast as character actor playing as a goon. In 1980s, he ventured into comedic roles. He got his first lead role in I Love You Three Times a Day (1988). He was one of the top comedian in the 90s.

He was one of the host of Eat Bulaga (1979) from 1983 until 2022.
