Oles Sanin

Ukrainian film director, screenwriter, producer, cinematographer, actor, musician and researcher of Ukrainian traditional culture. Author of the acclaimed Ukrainian films Mamay, The Guide and Dovbush. Recipient of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine, the Oleksandr Dovzhenko State Prize of Ukraine, and the honorary title People's Artist of Ukraine. For more than 30 years he has worked in Ukrainian and international film production - from documentary and auteur cinema to historical and interdisciplinary art projects. Specializes in historical, musical and epic film projects, combining contemporary cinematic language with Ukrainian mythology, folklore and cultural memory. He is a Member of the European Film Academy, a Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, and serves as the Vice President of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine.
