Peter Sanders, Director and Producer

Quotes

Peter Sanders

  • It has been a privilege to work on the legacy of the NYU Langone Orthopedics," said filmmaker Peter Sanders. "The nearly forty interviews that were conducted with specialists in the various subspecialties have created a rich tapestry of ideas and discussions of procedures in a wide range of areas of expertise. The film is both an oral history of the department and its hospitals and its institutional predecessors and a document that preserves the contributions of clinicians and scientists.
  • Peter, I want to bring you in here, so we've talked about putting together. The film and Dr. Eagle describing, the history of the organization up until where it is. Now, then there is the okay, it's out talk a little bit about having it at the Tribeca X Film Festival being nominated for best feature. But then also it's on streaming platforms as of right now. So those are our audience can go to Amazon Prime, then go to DirecTV and other platforms to to watch it. Talk about rolling it out. In terms of like, okay, we want people to actually see this project too, so I really asked Dr. Zuckerman Dr. Eagle. You know, if we could if we could make this a commercial piece of document, it's an official document, but it's something which commercial Lee definitely has space out there. And and I thought, you know, let's let's try the Tribeca film X Festival because it's local, you know, and why he was so close to trabecca. And, you know, maybe we'd have a shot and we got in, which was kind of a miracle. We lost to Ronald McDonald, darn it but hey it's okay. You know you know that not a better cost to lose to the rental house. But anyway, what the what the most important part of this journey at the end was that we were able to get it outside of, just the internal settings of NYU the, you know, the website and and I got a hold of an aggregate company, which then farmed it out to about 10, or 12 platforms and streaming companies. So, we are on say Google Play, Microsoft, Hulu, or on Roku 2B, we're on iTunes, were on amazon.com. We're on Prime video Dish Network on DirecTV. All these things started to happen and Cascade down because people started to feel like, okay, if I'm interested in, then we should be too. And I think that's the good thing. And so, we got some decent press back. Spine Journal, am New York, my local papers, which send farmed out to like, a national feed or something. And just little things just kind of added up, and I feel like we've gotten enough traction so that, you know, there'll be a couple thousand people that should watch this outside of the realm of just the medical community NYU. I'm really excited that NYU is going to finally have some some exposure because he Orthopedic department is exceptional and the history is not to be believed what they've done in the last 150 years.
