Biography

Bjørn Sand was born on September 19, 1928 in Oslo, Norway. He was a writer and actor, known for To Norway, Home of Giants (1979), Operasjon sjøsprøyt (1964) and Operasjon Løvsprett (1962). He was married to Unni Bernhoft. He died on December 18, 2024 in Oslo, Norway.

He was responsible for the script and direction of To Norway, Home of Giants , which was Norway's contribution to the Festival Rose d'Or (the television entertainment festival in Montreux ).

Together with his father-in-law Bias Bernhoft, he wrote scripts for several Norwegian film comedies in the 1960s and 1970s, including Operasjon Sjøsprøyt and Operasjon Løvsprett.

Sand wrote the lyrics for Chat Noir's family show Davy Crockett with melodies by Arne Bendiksen in 1966.

He is particularly known for his character "Stutum" on Norwegian radio in collaboration with Totto Osvold, a role which earned him and Osvold the award Spellemannprisen 1973.

Bjørn Sand was a Norwegian revue writer and actor.
