Biography

Born in Beirut, Lebanon, Gino Salvano came of age during the country’s civil war where he saved many lives before immigrating to the United States as a teenager, eventually settling in Los Angeles to pursue acting. Early modeling work and regional casting led him to Miami in the early 1990s, where casting director Ellen Jacoby first recognized his on-screen presence and brought him into studio features including The Bodyguard and Only the Strong. That exposure proved pivotal when Jacoby introduced him to world-class director James Cameron, resulting in a role in True Lies. Cameron further enlisted Salvano as a technical advisor-an experience that expanded his profile and launched a run of international projects in Europe, the Caribbean, and the UK, including Command Approved by the talented director Graham Moore. Back in the U.S., Salvano’s reputation for intensity and authenticity attracted additional industry champions. Actor/Producer Ron Lang helped bring him to the attention of producers behind All About the Benjamins, while casting director Ed Arenas later brought him into Bad Boys II, where he worked under Michael Bay opposite Jordi Mollà. A return to Los Angeles and representation through Shae Jacobson and the Abrams Artist Group led to further high-profile television roles, including 24 and NCIS: Los Angeles. He continued to broaden his resume with voiceover and video-game work and collaborations with acclaimed filmmakers such as David Mamet (Spartan) and Peter Berg (The Kingdom). Known for portraying formidable antagonists and elite military figures, Salvano has also become a valued cultural and technical consultant on productions requiring Middle Eastern authenticity. His later television work includes a memorable turn on Burn Notice, playing opposite Alon Aboutboul, as well as independent features where he again served as an Arabic advisor-blending lived experience with performance. The result is a career shaped as much by resilience and reinvention as by sustained relationships with top casting directors, agents, and filmmakers across film and television.
