Xavier Saint-Macary was born on 7 June 1948 in Orléans, Loiret, France. He was an actor and writer, known for Day for Night (1973), Ce répondeur ne prend pas de messages (1979) and Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo (1977). He was married to Isabelle Ho. He died on 13 March 1988 in Paris, France.

Elder brother of <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm0756651/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Hubert Saint-Macary</a>.

His ex-wife, Isabelle Hô, also died aged 39.

At one time, lived with Nathalie Baye, his co-star from Day for Night (1973).

Had one daughter with his ex-wife, Isabelle Hô.

Was due to reprise his role of Hervé Lorieux in the third season of Marie Pervenche. He died four months before filming.

Completed filming his final film role in A Few Days with Me (1988), merely three months before his untimely death.
