- Had a law practice with second husband Milton Cohen. Among their clients was Ann Dvorak.
- Won a divorce from Fred Karger after she testified in Superior Court that he knocked a Karl Marx book out of her hand, and told her he didn't want his wife to be more intelligent than him. Studying to be a lawyer at the time, Sacks was admitted to the Californai State Bar in January 1952.
