Sackman's executive career reached early milestones when he served as the founding President of Lionsgate Films. During his tenure, he led the studio's film division through its foundational years, helping to build the operational architecture for what would eventually become a multi-billion dollar entertainment empire. While at Lionsgate, he played an instrumental role in bringing groundbreaking independent cinema to global markets.
Following his tenure at Lionsgate, Sackman co-founded ThinkFilm in 2001, serving as the boutique studio's President and CEO. Under his leadership, ThinkFilm became a premiere powerhouse for prestige independent cinema and award-winning documentaries, securing multiple Academy Award nominations and a win for the feature Born into Brothels. Sackman navigated the company through a highly successful corporate acquisition and exit in 2006.
In 2019, Sackman reunited with long-time industry collaborator Berry Meyerowitz to launch Quiver Distribution. Utilizing a private, self-funded operational model, Sackman has used his extensive market expertise to expand the company's global footprint. This footprint grew exponentially with Quiver's strategic acquisition of the 1,000-title Kew Media Distribution library. He additionally serves as the Chairman of Hollywood Suite, a prominent Canadian television broadcasting corporation.
