Biography

Tore Ryen was born on December 30, 1946 in Norway. He was a writer and director, known for Holms (2002), Mot i brøstet (1993) and Karl III (2009). He was married to Dagmar Grindvold Ryen. He died on May 8, 2026.

Father of Adam Ryen.

Had a long career at NRK, where he started at the age of 19.

Won the Gullruten professional award in 2001 and the Komiprisen professional award the following year.

Tore Ryen was a Norwegiandirector, producer, revue and television writer.

In the 1980s he lived in California where he worked for Aaron Spelling . Through his contact with Spelling he obtained the video rights to Dynasty in Norway.
