Biography

Jane Rule was born on March 28, 1931 in Plainfield, New Jersey, USA. She was a writer, known for Desert Hearts (1985), Fiction and Other Truths: A Film About Jane Rule (1995) and Little Sister's vs. Big Brother (2002). She died on November 27, 2007 in Galiano Island, British Columbia, Canada.

She was the longtime companion of Helen Sonthoff.

She was awarded the (C.M.) Member of the Order of Canada on October 5, 2006 and the Order of British Columbia for her services to literature.
