- Gennadi Rozhdestvensky was born on May 4, 1931 in Moscow, RSFSR, USSR [now Russia]. He was an actor, known for 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (1988) and The Bolshoi Ballet (1957). He was married to Viktoria Postnikova and Nina Timofeyeva. He died on June 16, 2018 in Moscow, Russia.

- Conductor of the Orchestra of the Bolshoi Theatre from 1951 to 1970.
- His father Nikolai Anosov was a conductor and teacher, and his mother Natalya Rozhdestvenskaya was a soprano. Rozhdestvensky took his mother's name because he didn't want his father's name to be seen as helping his own conducting career.
