- He was named after the horn player in James Brown's Band, Maceo Parker. Has a fraternal twin brother, Marcus.
- Mazio was a standout tailback for the USC Trojans. He became the third sophomore in the history of the school to run for over 1,000 yards in a single season.
- Played three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL. Was the first runningback selected in the expansion draft (1995) by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
- Performed all the football stunts for Bill Bellamy's character (Jimmy Sanderson) in the Oliver Stone directed film "Any Given Sunday".

- Graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration.
- Opted to forgo his senior year at USC and turn pro as an underclassman.
- Holds the distinction of having the best career start of any running-back in USC Football History. In his first career start against Washington State (October 6, 1990), Mazio had 34 carries 204 yards and 3 touchdowns.
- He has doubled for NFL Football Players: Michael Vick, LaDanian Tomlinson, Keyshawn Johnson, Donovan McNabb and Reggie Bush.
- Has his own sports entertainment consulting company, 3rd and 1, Inc., based in Burbank, CA.
