  • Nickname
    • Jimmy
  • Height
    5′ 11″ (1.80 m)

Biography

  • Jim Rothman has lived in Hollywood all his life. But he only moved there in 1999. Born and raised in Burien, Washington, Jim had a natural ability to perform. He spent much of his elementary and high school experience performing in community theater and shooting short films. But it was after winning an award for Best Actor, for his performance in Shadow Box, that Jim decided to take the plunge and move to Hollywood.

Upon graduating from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Jim immediately won the role of Simon in Bernard Slade's An Act of The Imagination and was nominated for his work. Various roles in television, films and commercials followed, including a small part on the HBO series Six Feet Under. In 2008, eager to move his career forward, and frustrated by an uncanny resemblance to Matt Damon, Jim decided to take matter into his own hands.

Jim wrote, directed, and starred in his directorial debut short film, "I'm Not Matt Damon," a witty, action comedy, about his time spent in Los Angeles, trying to procure work, while looking like an already famous star. The film would go on to play in ten film festivals around the world and win two awards.

For his follow up film, after the resurgence of the R-rated adult comedy, Jim shot one of his own called Going Down There, a hilarious look at a man's first experience, "going down there".

Jim's passion and energy for making movies is contagious and, as a triple threat talent, his career is only beginning.
