Biography

Daniel Rosenfeld (Buenos Aires) , director , awarded as New Director at Venice Official Competition, is also co-producer of his films and several projects.

For several years, before directing, he took piano composition classes but ended up making films. Mass Media graduated, studied editing with Miguel Perez, staging with Augusto Fernandes, acting with Julio Chavez, and took seminars with Krysztof Kieslowsky, Stephen Frears, Jorge Goldenberg, Lita Stantic, Ken Adam, Alessandro Baricco, Antonhy Mingella and Abbas Kiarostami.

Before directing films, he worked on several full-length films as Alejandro Agresti's assistant director (Buenos Aires Viceversa, Wind with the Gone, La Cruz -scrip stage-) .

He directed awarded feature films (Documentaries and fiction). Talented cast collaborates in his projects, like Leonardo Sbaraglia, ,Nahuel Perez Biscayart, Mercedes Morán, Rafael Spregelburd, Oscar Martinez, Martina Garello, Irene Jacob. His Films have been premiered at Berlinale, Venice Oficial Competition, Idfa, San Sebastian, Karlovy Vary, FidMarseille, Vision Du reel, , Rotterdam, MOMA, Center Popmidou, etc. He co produced as Daniel Rosenfeld films (then named rosinante films) 14 titles with France, Denmark, Spain, Netherlands, Japan, Germany.

On 2021 received the Konex award as best director of the decade in documentaries in Argentina, this award match with the premiere of his last documentary directed "Piazzolla, the years of the shark", co produced with ARTE France, tohokushinsha film corporation Japan, Avotros Netherlands , Ideale Audience, theatrically premiered in 25 countries, was nominated for the Latin Grammy 2019 best long documentary on music . Winner Best Film of Latinoamerica "All is true" , Winner Best Documentary of the year Academy of Motion Pictures and Arts Argentina, Winner Best Documentary Script of the year Society of writers Argentina, Winner Sky- Arte Distributin award TorinoSYS 2019, Winner Silver Condor best documentary of the year By the Asc of Film Critics from Argentina, Internatonal Premiere at IDFA Gala Screening at the Opera Carre Oficial Selection ( also nominated to the Audience Award at IDFA.). The documentary opened the documentary season at HBO latam. Rosenfeld next film, will be a fiction based on a Karen Blixen tale.
