Biography

Kay Rose was born on February 12, 1922 in New York City, New York, USA. She is known for Speed (1994), Black Rain (1989) and Tequila Sunrise (1988). She was married to Sherman A. Rose. She died on December 11, 2002 in Burbank, California, USA.

In October 2002, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg endowed the Kay Rose Chair in the Art of Sound and Dialogue Editing at the School of Cinema-Television, University of Southern California.

Mother of Victoria Rose Sampson, sound editor and filmmaker; grandmother of Sarah DeAngelo, jewelry designer/actress and Amy Rose Sampson, artist/photographer.
