Roord has struggled with health problems in recent years. In 2019, she shattered her forearm after falling down the stairs, from which her recovery did not go well. She also had problems with her intestines and took a lot of medication for other ailments. The actress has donated her body to science.

Her health failed her years ago. For some time, the actress had been staying in the monumental Sarphatihuis, where singer/actor Ramses Shaffy also spent his final years - until he died there in 2009.

While the sitcom Kees & Co may have brought her the most fame, she did much more. When she appeared in the musical Piaf a few years later, it did not go unnoticed, and she immediately received a (John Kraaijkamp) Musical Award for that supporting role.

Roord graduated from the drama school in Amsterdam in 1991 and was "discovered" by Willem Nijholt.

She became best known as neighbor Sonja in the comedy series Kees & Co, alongside Simone Kleinsma. After the sitcom ended, things went quiet around the actress, who spoke out one last time and then said: "I would rather be forgotten.".

In 2012, Roord was part of the professional jury for the Gouden Pepernoot, together with Fred Butter, Nance Coolen, Rik Hoogendoorn, and Tony Neef, among others. This foundation awards prizes for the best Sinterklaas (= legendary figure based on Saint Nicholas, patron saint of children) initiatives in the Netherlands.

In the 2010-2011 theater season, Roord starred in the theatrical version of "Zadelpijn en Ander Damesleed", in which she played the role of Jacqueline. The production was revived in August and September at the Oude Luxor Theater in Rotterdam and the Koninklijk Theater Carré in Amsterdam. The production was awarded the Veghelse Toneelpublieksprijs and finished second in the AVRO Toneel Audience Award.

In September 2011, Roord participated in "De Snorrenclub" (HelemaalLoos Producties) for the 48 Hour Film Project, for which she was nominated for Best Actress. The 48 Hour Film Project is an annual film competition in which teams of filmmakers are assigned a genre, a character, a prop, and a line of dialogue, and have 48 hours to create a short film containing those elements.

The final phase of the life of the born comedienne stood in stark contrast to all the cheerfulness she brought on television and in the theater.
