Conrad Rooks was an American filmmaker, screenwriter, producer and actor. The fact that he was an heir to the Avon Products cosmetics fortune, where his father, Russell Rooks, was one of the founders, created certain favorable conditions for Conrad Rooks. With hopes of a life as a jazz musician, it was filmmaking that became his trade. In 1966, "Chappaqua" was shown at the Venice Film Festival and won the Special Prize of the Jury. Four years later Brooks second feature film "Siddharta", based on the novel by Hermann Hesse, premiered.
