Biography

Roja, the accomplished actress, was born to Kumaraswamy Reddy, a Chittor district native, before her family relocated to Hyderabad. Her journey into the realm of cinema began in the Telugu film industry. Despite facing discouragement due to her initially rough voice as a child, Roja persevered and pursued her passion for acting.

She pursued higher education, earning a Masters degree in Political Science from Nagarjuna University. Additionally, Roja dedicated herself to the art of Kuchipudi, a classical dance form, honing her skills over the course of several years.

The breakthrough in Roja's cinematic career came with her debut in Tamil cinema, courtesy of director R.K. Selvamani's film, "Chembaruthi," where she starred opposite actor Prashanth. The movie turned out to be a blockbuster, laying the foundation for her success in the Tamil film industry.

Roja garnered widespread acclaim for her roles in various films, including notable performances in "Engal Aiyyah" alongside Mammooty, where her song "Veloor Maman" gained immense popularity. Her collaboration with Prabhu Deva in "Rasaiyya," particularly the song "Mastana Mastana," further solidified her status as a sought-after actress.

Her repertoire expanded to working with iconic actors like Rajinikanth in "Veera" and Arjun Sarja in "Ayudha Poojai," establishing her as a versatile talent in the industry.
