Lost a finger during an accident on the set of Red Runs the River
(1963). Through this he met the director, Katherine Stenholm, and
eventually became the editor and screenwriter for Unusual Films.
In response to a student who asked to ask a "quick question": "Well,
you could make it a slow question - long as it's a question I'm happy
to stay with it."
