As a veteran of the U.S. Navy, Rockwell applied burial in Arlington National Cemetery however, it was denied. After his assassination he was allowed to be buried in Culpeper National Cemetery in Culpeper, Virginia, however the pallbearers were denied access by the U.S. Army because they refused to remove their swastika armbands. His body was later cremated and his ashes are believed to reside with The New Order, a successor organization of the American Nazi Party headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Served in the U.S. Navy during WW2 as a pilot.
Worked as an illustrator, cartoonist and photographer, talents he used as a propagandist for his political cause.
Was interviewed for "Playboy" Magazine (April 1966) by Alex Haley, a black man. Rockwell consented to the interview on the condition that the interviewer not be Jewish. Part of the interview was dramatized, with Marlon Brando playing Rockwell, in Roots: The Next Generations (1979).
He ran for public office twice and lost by large margins each time. In 1964 he ran as a write-in candidate in the U.S. Presidential election, receiving 212 votes. In 1965 he ran for Governor of Virginia as an independent candidate, finishing fourth out of four candidates, with a total of 5,730 votes (1.02% of all votes cast).
Was shot and killed outside a coin-operated laundromat in Arlington, VA, by John Patler, the editor and illustrator for the party's newsletter, "The Stormtrooper". Rockwell himself expelled Patler from the party after he was accused of "Bolshevik leanings" and inserting Marxist propaganda into the party's newsletter.

I don't believe in democracy. In the second place, neither did our white forefathers. I believe, as they did, in a republican authoritarian republic with a limited electorate--just like the one the writers of our Constitution meant this country to be. When these white Christian patriots sat down to write the Declaration of Independence, there were no black citizens for them to worry about.
A leopard doesn't change his spots just because you bring him in from the jungle and try to housebreak him and turn him into a pet. He may learn to sheathe his claws in order to beg a few scraps off the dinner table, and you may teach him to be a beast of burden, but it doesn't pay to forget that he'll always be what he was born: a wild animal.
We must never again let America be led into a fratricidal war like the last two world wars, for the sake of alien, minority interests.
Being prepared to die is one of the great secrets of living.
