- Everyone asks me - are you straight or are you gay? It doesn't matter. Who cares? It seems odd to me the people who care the most are not the straight people I know - it's the gay people I know. I don't understand it at all. They're the ones who have been persecuted for many years, who were screaming for justice and equality and basic human rights. Gay people should be more tolerant of someone who prefers not to reveal his sexuality. Straight people tend to be more tolerant, unless, of course, you're going to Texas. Or Alabama. Actually, Alabama is more tolerant than Texas.
- We grew up in a very religious family. [Brothers Shane and Hal] are just going back to something they grew up with. When you grow up in a philosophy of fear, the kind of philosophy that Christianity is, it's easy to go back to that. You start to have these visions of yourself in Hell, or whatever it might be.
