She plays the banjo for the music band The Chicks, along with her sister Martie, and Natalie Maines. She, along with Natalie and Martie, were featured in Dixie Chicks on the Fly (2000). They also sung songs for the Julia Roberts film, Runaway Bride (1999). In May 1999, Emily married Charlie Robison.
