- Robertson began his broadcasting career in 1972 with the ABC before moving to Seven in the 1980s, and he was known for his wry sense of humour. In a special program celebrating the 100th anniversary of ABC Radio Sydney last year (2023), presenter Rod Quinn, who researched the history of the station, said Robertson broke the mould of the stiff and serious presenter.
