Biography

Oral Roberts was born on January 24, 1918 in Pontotoc County, Oklahoma, USA. He was an actor, known for Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In (1967), A City of the King (1971) and Oral Roberts: Christmas Is Love (1975). He was married to Evelyn Lutman Fahnestock. He died on December 15, 2009 in Newport Beach, California, USA.

Founder of Oral Roberts University.

Children: Rebecca Roberts (16 December 1939 - Feb. 1977), Ronald Roberts (22 October 1943 - Jan. 1982), Richard Roberts (b. 12 November 1948), Roberta Roberts.

In June 1987, he announced that he has raised the dead and will return after his own death to rule alongside Jesus Christ.

In March 1986, he claimed God told him that he would be "called home" (die) if he was unable to raise $8 million by 31 March 1987 to continue his ministry. After the deadline passed, he stated on 1 April that the money had been raised and his life had been spared.
