Born in the UK, Jason moved to South Africa with his family at the age
of six, settling in Johannesburg soon after the Soweto riots. He began
his career as a child actor in advertisements before being chosen for
the lead role in 'Claws', for which he was nominated for the South
African equivalent of an Emmy (the Artes Award, in the category "Best
Performance in a Dramatic Work")
Jason continued to work in TV and film in South Africa, moving at the age of nineteen into radio and television presenting, until his emigration to the UK in 1995, where he carried on his work in television presenting.
