Biography

Carlos Rivas was born on February 16, 1925 in El Paso, Texas, USA. He was an actor and producer, known for The King and I (1956), The Madmen of Mandoras (1963) and True Grit (1969). He was married to Sylvia. He died on June 16, 2003 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

A founding member of Nosotros, the Los Angeles-based organization that works to improve the image and employment of Latinos in the entertainment industry.

Best known for his portrayal of the ill-fated Lun Tha opposite Rita Moreno in The King and I (1956) starring Yul Brynner and Deborah Kerr. Carlos' singing voice was dubbed by Reuben Fuentes.

Virile Mexican-American actor who appeared in many films both in the US and Mexico during the 1950s and '60s.
