Heather Ripley

  • Heather now lives in the Eco village at the world famous spiritual community Findhorn Foundation in the North east of Scotland where she works as a therapist.
  • Having appeared in one film, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (1968) at the age of seven, she went to Ireland with her mother and sought anonymity. After a brief foray with acting and modelling at the age of seventeen, and training as an optician, she now devotes her time to "eco-warrior" protests outside the Faslane nuclear submarine base near Greenock in Scotland, UK.
  • Has a son, Cosmo (b. 1985), and a daughter, Josie (b. 1988).
  • Believed to live in the Broughty Ferry area near Dundee.
  • She was the only child of a fairly well-to-do family. Her father and grandfather ran an ophthalmic opticians' business in Dundee. Her mother got a job as a wardrobe mistress at Dundee Rep and Heather used to go after school to watch the rehearsals.
  • She became a tireless campaigner for such causes as trying to prevent road building on the site of a prehistoric burial chamber on the northern line of the Callanish standing stones in Lewis, and then against the Newbury bypass.
  • In 2016, Ripley was a volunteer worker at the Lagadikia refugee camp outside Thessaloniki in Greece which provided food, clothing and support to about 875 people.[.
