Hauke Richter was born in Bielefeld, Germany, in 1968. He attended the London International Film School (now London Film School). He is a member of the British Film Designers Guild. He is known for Game of Thrones (2013-2019), Nosferatu (2024) and The Northman (2022) among other titles. He is primarily based in London and Belfast but has extensively worked internationally as well.
