Biography

Jacques Richepin was born on March 20, 1880 in Paris, France. Jacques was married to Cora Laparcerie (1875-1951). Jacques died on September 2, 1946 in Brittany, France.

French playwright, poet and theatre manager.

Son of Jean Richepin.

Remembered for the plays "Lysistrata" and "La Cavalier".

His 1913 play "Le Minaret" was directed by his wife and starred Mata Hari.

In 1914 he engaged in a sword duel with writer Pierre Frondaie over a dispute that arose between their wives. The duel ended after Frondaie was wounded. Over 100 celebrities and press witnessed the duel, including Richepin's father.
