During his appearance on stage in Berlin where he worked for Max Reinhardt he also got in touch with the film business.

His first movies already came in 1913 and in the next years he became established as a movie actor and he impersonated roles in the very film serial with the figure Stuart Webbs like "Stuart Webbs: Die geheimnisvolle Villa" (1914), "Stuart Webbs: Das Panzergewölbe" (1914) and "Stuart Webbs: Die Toten erwachen" (1915).

Fritz Richard experienced the height of his film career in the silent movie era of the 20s and he took part in numerous well-known productions.

He took acting lessons by Pauline Loewe and afterwards he got his first engagement at the theater in Mülheim in 1886. It followed other engagements in the next years, both in Austria and Germany.
