Biography

Prolific stage and screen character actress, noted for her intensely emotive performances, particularly during the silent era. She was trained, among others, by Max Reinhardt in Vienna and began acting on stage in Berlin from 1905. She remained one of the busiest supporting players in films of the 1930's, playing grandmothers, landladies, char women and innkeepers.

In the 20's, when the full-length feature film came up more and more, she got role offers for some of the most important German movies.

She continued her career successfully in the sound film era and the filmmakers esteemed the expressiveness of Frida Richard.

Frida Richard was married with the actor Fritz Richard.

She was a very busy actress in the silent movie era who was engaged by many famous directors because of her charisma full of character.
