Biography

Claude Rich was born on February 8, 1929 in Strasbourg, Bas-Rhin, France. He was an actor and writer, known for I Love You, I Love You (1968), Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra (2002) and The Bride Wore Black (1968). He was married to Catherine Rich. He died on July 20, 2017 in Orgeval, Yvelines, France.

Actor and author, he won the second prize of comedy in 1953 at the Conservatoire. He created the role of Talleyrand in the play Le souper for which he won the Cesar for best actor in its film adaptation. He always created a sense of happiness in his acting and also in his life it seems.

Member of the jury at the Berlin International Film Festival 1996.

Father of two daughters: Nathalie and actress Delphine Rich.
