  • Scott Rice is an award-winning filmmaker and commercial director whose clients include Shell, Subway, MasterCard and Sears. His narrative work holds a staggering film festival record of 300 Official Selections and 85 Awards. Comedy Central, Hulu, Showtime, Blockbuster and PBS have distributed his films. He has also directed projects for A&E, MTV Networks and Sony Pictures. Rice is known for co-teaching a film course at the University of Texas with Matthew McConaughey. Most recently he won an Emmy for the PBS series Stories of the Mind about mental health in America. Rice began his career as an art director for Activision. He scripted the hit game Soldier of Fortune and has since written on assignment for Elizabeth Avellán among others. Scott Rice is represented by the Brant Rose Agency for film and Two Shot West Productions for commercials.

  • Made Oscar history when he became the first person to be named as a finalist in two categories in the same year for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Student Academy Awards competition. His pre-thesis project, "The Adventures of Mad Matt," is a finalist in the documentary category, while his thesis film, "Perils in Nude Modeling," is a finalist in the narrative category.
  • Scott Rice attended the 2nd annual HatcH audiovisual festival in Bozeman, MT in October 2005 with his film, "Perils in Nude Modeling". HatcH focuses on inspiring and mentoring the next generation of artists and filmmakers. He was a Groundbreaker, one of ten student filmmakers whose films were accepted to the festival and who took part in panels and roundtables at the week-long festival.
