- In November 1944, producer Alfonso Sánchez Tello announced his intention to film the life of Lucha Reyes (the film would have been titled "La vida de Lucha Reyes"). Matilde Sánchez ("La Torcacita"), a ranchera singer, was hired to portray Lucha Reyes. Unfortunately, the film was never made.
