Won the Calendario Azteca de Oro Award for Best Female Pop Singer (1962). The award was presented to her by the Mexican Association of Radio and Television Journalists (Asociación Mexicana de Periodistas de Radio y Televisión).
Her maternal grandfather was Rubén Leví, a French Jew, and her maternal grandmother, Isabel Rey, was born in Havana, Cuba.
