Thanassis Rentzis (1947-2025) was a distinguished Greek director, a trailblazer in experimental cinema, as well as a respected theorist and academic. He created groundbreaking and innovative films, founded the influential magazine "Film", led the Greek Directors' association as its president, and served as director of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival. Widely acknowledged as a key figure in Greek experimental cinema, Rentzis remains a lasting reference point in the field.
