Born in Belgium, Stéphane Renard began his journey in the film industry in Cuba where he studies Cinematography in the EICTV (Escuela Internacional de Cine y TV). Back to Brussels, his hometown, he decides to pursue his career as a 1st Assistant Camera. He, then, decides to move to the US where he could acquire more experience and improve his skills. He is, now, living in New York City, NY. He has both Belgian and US citizenships and speaks fluently English, French and Spanish.
He has worked on several projects including Moonlight (2017 Winner Oscar Best Motion Picture), The Knife (2024 Winner Best New Narrative Director and Best Cinematography at Tribeca Film Festival), In The Summers (2024 Winner US Dramatic at Sundance Film Festival), The Mustang, The Inspection, Zola, Fighting with my family.
