Khan Ataur Rahman was born on 11 December 1928 in Manikganj, Bengal Presidency, British India [now in Manikganj, Bangladesh]. He was a composer and writer, known for Ekhono Onek Raat (1997), Nawab Sirajuddaula (1967) and Daan Pite Chele (1980). He was married to Nilufar Yasmin, Mahbuba Rahman and Wheaton, Shirley. He died on 1 December 1997 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
