Biography

Richard Reeves was born on November 28, 1936 in New York City, New York, USA. He was an actor and writer, known for Seabiscuit (2003), Dave (1993) and An American Journey (1983). He was married to Catherine O'Neill and Carol A Wiegand. He died on March 25, 2020 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

He studied engineering at the Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey.

He was a political reporter and author who wrote books about the 1976 Democratic Convention, the Berlin Airlift, the WWII Japanese internment camps, Alexis de Tocqueville, and the presidencies of Gerald Ford, John Kennedy, and Bill Clinton.

Richard Reeves work, in print and on television, won numerous awards, including an Emmy in 1980 for the ABC documentary "Lights, Camera ... Politics!," about televisions impact on elections.
