Michael Reeves

Suffered from depression and insomnia. His death from an overdose of barbiturates, combined with alcohol, was accidental rather than suicide.
Chosen to direct The Oblong Box (1969) but died during pre-production.
A big fan of director Don Siegel.
After the initial director left the project, Reeves reportedly took over directing The Castle of the Living Dead (1964), although Sir Christopher Lee said he had no recollection of ever being directed by Reeves.
He was linked to The Oblong Box (1969) and Scream and Scream Again (1970). Both films would end up being directed by Gordon Hessler.
Was reportedly disappointed by the casting of Vincent Price for Witchfinder General (1968). Reeves wanted Donald Pleasence originally.
Had ambitions toward becoming a filmmaker from boyhood.
